Lanikai Beach Portraits
Clarence and I first met on a summer missions trip in Hawaii about 6 years ago. We were college students unsure of our future, and we dreamed of pursuing a photography career one day. We laughed about how amazing that would be and thought of it more as a dream than a reality. 6 years later, we were both back on the beautiful island, both now wedding photographers full time, and nostalgia kicked in as we took pictures of each other on this quiet beach.
It was an honor to photograph Clarence (of Clarence Chan Photography) and his wife Eunice. As you can see they are practically models! We took turns on this shoot, starting with Deb and me, then walking a little bit, switching to Clarence and Euenice, and so forth. It was like a photography exercise where we feed off each other’s inspirations, and learn little tricks here and there and experience being on the “other side” of the lens. Being a photographer us fun, and having photographer friends is even better!
In total, we spent about 1.5 hours at Lanikai beach taking pictures of each other. The beach was full of dog-walkers, which made this place paradise for both our wives. Here’s one shot Clarence got of us:
Wow….6 years past by fast! I remember those days when you two were JUST starting out and playing with your cameras. 🙂 LOOK at you now! So proud of you two and your work!!! 🙂
