James and Stephanie are some of the coolest people around. They live in LA, work together in the entertainment industry, and they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. They originally found me by searching ‘Candid wedding photographer in Austin’ in Google, and I’m proud to say I was the first to show up. I’m quite lucky to be their photographer, and I’m so glad I got to meet these two.
Their wedding was exactly how I’d imagine it to be based on their personalities. It was organic, down to earth, and dream-like all at the same time. Stephanie is the kind of bride who lets her bridesmaids choose their own vibrant colorful dress, and James would accidentally put contact cleaning solution in his eye the morning of his wedding and laugh it off like nothing happened. Red eye and everything.
Their ceremony was officiated by one of their close friends. This meant video selfies, first-impressions, and hilarious stories were all involved making everyone laugh out loud the whole time. Their ceremony was one of the most unique ones I’ve seen. Instead of the more common ceremony unity symbols like sand pouring or knot tying, they chose to create a drink mix full of sweet, salty, and everything in between. They then drank the concoction as their way of embracing all the complexities of life together.
